September = Food Festival Month

by Claire Martinsen on Wed 31st Aug 2011 00:04

September is alway mega-busy in the world of fine food – end of the summer, Harvest Festival feeling, starting thinking about Christmas………yes, it really is the month of Food Festivals and all things foodie.

Here’s a quick run down of where we are out and about this month

3/4 September – Waddesdon Chilli Festival

Our first time at Waddesdon and we are really looking forward to it! We adore Chilli Festivals and if you haven’t been to one then you haven’t lived

4/6 September – Speciality Fine Food

The mecca of the Fine Food world…..Trade only show for three days at Olympia.  Meeting lots of new customers, existing customers and supplier friends.  Could be hoarse by the end of it!

10 September – Usk Show, Monmouthshire

Ahh – such lovely memories from childhood…grew up just outside Usk and for all of my childhood this was a must go event.  I won the Best Handwriting competition a few times and life doesn’t get better than that when you are 8!

10 September – Norfolk Food Festival

New venue this year at Castle Gardens, and we shall be there! Can’t wait x

16 September- Pop Up Restaurant at West Lexham

This sounds SOOO cool and we are going to be there!  Norfolk’s very own pop-up restaurant…….a collaboration between Sam Bryant of Strattons Restaurant and Matthew Owsley-Brown, ex- Rick Steins and Fishes.  It’s going to be magical and we’re so excited to be a part of it!

17/18 September – Abergavenny Food Festival

Have to admit I am just SOO excited about going to Abergavenny this year.  I grew up in the Wye Valley, just outside Usk [qv] and spent many happy hours and days in Aber [as the locals call it!].  All my relatives live in and around, hoping some old school pals will come by too so its going to be lovely. Expecting to do a lot of yaking and may end up with a Welsh twang by the end of it.

17/18 September – LaHogue Food Festival

Chris and Jo at LaHogue are having a festival of local food………and we’ll be joining in the fun and catching up with our lovely food pals from round and about. Dr Tim Kinnaird will be there demonstrating his wonderful patisserie skills so that by itself is making us drool already. See you there!

24/25 September – Aldeburgh Food Festival

Magical setting at Snape Maltings, hob-nobbing with the great and the good of the food world, quite wonderfully lovely and if you are anywhere [and I mean anywhere] even remotely nearby hot foot it over to Aldeburgh!  A complete treat for the senses.

1/2 October – East Midlands Food and Drink Festival

We are speading our wings a little and travelling to Melton Mowbray……….please come by and say hello!  We might not know anyone, and will be showcasing our drinks!
