Breckland Orchard is [nearly] Three!

by Claire Martinsen on Thu 01st Mar 2012 03:49

Friday is the start of Feast East – and that marks exactly three years since Breckland Orchard started!  I can hardly believe it was March 2009 that this whole adventure began!

I do remember vividly booking Feast East in January 2009, not knowing if I would even have a product to take to the show.  At that point I didn’t even have a name, a prototype bottle – nothing, but faith and belief that it would all come together!  One of the farm shop owners I spoke to before starting out assured me that if it went completely wrong I could go to the show with bottles filled with coloured water and tell everyone that they weren’t  cleared for drinking just yet.  That was my back up plan – thank goodness I didn’t need to fall back on Plan B.

It was Plan A all the way……..the bottles were produced, passed microbiological tests, some quick photos taken and I was there at Feast East on Thursday 5th March 2009 all ready to go!  Absolute proof that if you want something to happen badly enough it will.

The range has evolved a bit since in those three years – from the original 4 bottles with their crown caps, to our range of 11 in two sizes with smart new branded screw caps.   Its been hard work, a rollercoaster, some amazing highs [and lows], the best of fun and something I just adore doing – I would not have missed being my own micro-business owner for the world.

Three years old – and time for a party come Friday at Feast East.

To finish the words of AA Milne………Being three is ‘hardly me’, it reminds me that there’s so much more to come, and I shall await that with excitement and intrepedation x

NOW WE ARE SIX

When I was one I had just begun
When I was two I was nearly new

When I was three I was hardly me
When I was four I was not much more

When I was five I was just alive
But now I am six, I’m as clever as clever;

So I think I’ll be six now for ever and ever.
