Golden Brownies......with a side of D&B

Breckland Ochard Dandelion and Burdock

My latest passion – Brownies with a side of Dandelion and Burdock!  I’ve made the Brownies golden with the addition of some gold spray……..so it all looks very colour co-ordinated!

Breckland Orchard Dandelion and BurdockMaster Breckland is proving a dab hand at whipping up a batch of brownies – he’s 8, and is a good weigher-outer and mixer…..mainly because he loves licking the bowl clean at the end of the day.

And ta-dah…..all very pretty [and delicious!].  Recipe below:

GOLDEN BROWNIES – Makes approximately 24 generous squares

345g Caster Sugar

80g Cocoa Powder

60g Flour

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

4 Eggs

200g Chocolate Drops [a mix of milk/white works well]

200g Butter

2 Teaspoons Vanilla Essence

METHOD: Mix all the dry ingredients together [except the chocolate drops]. Then add all the wet ingredients. Lastly add the chocolate drops.  Cook at 160C for 45mins – 1 hr until springy to the touch.  Remove and leave to cool on a wire rack.  Spray the top with Dr Oetker’s ‘gold’ shimmer spray
