Setting up at London Coffee Festival 2015
Dara and I headed to London last night to set up for the London Coffee Festival at the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch. The shows always look great on the day…..and the Old Truman Brewery is a beautiful industrial setting….but well, it wasn’t really built for exhibitions [clearly!] and setting up in quirky locations is always a little bit difficult.
We headed off in plenty of time….I am completely OTT in needing to be on time, so we left lots of time. Our set up time was 7pm and we had 45 minutes to set up within. But not even that extra time could allow for the traffic carnage around Barking when one of the key trunk routes got closed…….oh dear!
There was a lovely crew helping with the set up……they couldn’t have been more friendly nor more helpful [especially when I had to reverse the van up a snake-like course…..I managed without scraping anything which was a miracle]. We were glad of the help to get the bottles up in the lift and to the stand. Mission accomplished! Shows are always a mish-mash of boxes and pallets until really just before opening time……then like magic [and just like the TV make over programmes] they come to life! These are some pictures of ‘before’!
We grabbed a bit to eat in the fabulous DF Mexican Restaurant next to the Truman Brewery……then hit the M11 back home. We got home about 10.30pm….time to get some beauty sleep before the start of the show!
