Tastes of Anglia brings regional foodie delights!

by Claire Martinsen on Sun 28th Feb 2010 17:31

TOAI was delighted to be recently voted onto the Board of Tastes of Anglia by my peer members.  Tastes of Anglia is the regional food marketing group for the Eastern Region…covering the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex.  It promotes the interests of all food producers – from foods produced by individuals to much bigger organisations.  Myself and Robert Gooch from The Real Wild Meat Company were both voted onto the Board at the AGM.

I’ll bring a broad background to the board – my formal education in marketing, commercial experience with big brands and big companies [Coats Viyella and Mars] and now as a producer member of Tastes of Anglia.  Being voted onto the board was a complete honour and I hope to play my part in ensuring Tastes of Anglia remains a dynamic and vibrant part of the food scene in the region.

Feast East is the annual food and drink exhibition organised by Tastes of Anglia every year. My story started at Feast East back in March 2009.  I bravely [or foolishly] booked  a stand in January, not being totally sure that my product would be ready in time to exhibit there.  But having a firm stake in the ground in terms of a hard launch, meant that it was a great galviniser and I did indeed exhibit there – just a few days after my first ever production.  Customer and trade feedback was excellent and I even won the prize for Best Dressed Stand. I also exhibited at Speciality Fine Food Fair at Olympia under the Tastes of Anglia banner later in the year.

Feast East logoThis year I will be back at Feast East for my second year – I am so looking forward to it, and to meeting other members of Tastes of Anglia – especially my good friends Glebe Farm, Yum Yum Tree Fudge, Thursday Cottage and Munchy Seeds.  Its a great event – made even bigger and better this year with some special face in the Cookery Theatre and an educational area.  Its open on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th March from 10am to 5pm.

If you do go and visit you will have a great day, and be sure to drop by and say Hello! I would love to see you there!
