Fabulous Royal Norfolk Show 2016
The Royal Norfolk Show always feels like the start of summer ‘proper’ if that makes sense…..it’s always a highlight of the year here at Breckland Orchard. Lovely surroundings, a vibrant show, a foodhall dominated by foodie friends, animals galore and generally everyone having a great time……what’s not to love?
The show is usually blessed with lovely weather….but this year the weather gods weren’t quite so kind…..it ended up being a bit drizzly on the Wednesday afternoon, but that didn’t seem to dampen spirits at all.
The Royal Norfolk is so called because it has a royal patron, and there is a Royal visitor every year….this year it was Prince Charles and Camilla.
They came to visit the Food Hall which was was the first time in many years so we were all very excited! They were both really lovely and took time to speak to people and seemed genuinely interested in everyone!
I was manning the stand with my mum [aka Ma Breckland] and we both enjoyed the relaxed atmophere and the opportunity to catch up with lots of long standing friends, as well as making new friends! Our neighbours this year were from Slamsey’s Gin….and they were such good neighbours.
Check out these beauties……just delicious and freshly baked in Norwich!
I had one of the [literally] amazing Hazlenut and Burnt Butter one for lunch on the second day…..just too delicious to resist!
Magical atmosphere, magical setting, fabulous stewards, amazing show…..Thank you Royal Norfolk and see you next year!
