Why Ginger Beer could cheer up a hung Parliament

by Claire Martinsen on Wed 12th May 2010 16:56

Ginger Beer with Chilli Breckland OrchardI’ve decided that Ginger Beer could be the tonic that the country needs to cheer itself up from all this electral gloom…hung parliaments, emergency budgets, budget deficits etc…..its not cheery stuff at all!

The solution? Lashings and lashings of Ginger Beer!

A growing consumer trend is that of ‘Nostalgia’ – as the world gets more complicated we are all reverting to things that make us feel safe, reminds us of childhood and safer times.  The upsurge in cupcakes, Cath Kidston prints,  bunting , stews and pies etc is just the tip of the iceberg.

And in drinks? a real return to ‘old’ favourites……. especially Cloudy Lemonade, Ginger Beer. Its something that both the Daily Mail and the Telegraph picked up on last week – take a read of the article in its entirity. Its a trend that we are definitely seeing here at Breckland Orchard

The solution to the Global Financial recession, to the UK billion pound borrowings, to the crash of the Greek economy, to the woes of the world? Lashings and lashings of Ginger Beer [with Chilli of course!]

Cheers!
