Lunch with the Queen of Norfolk Twitteratti

by Claire Martinsen on Thu 24th Feb 2011 05:10

I love Twitter!  Such an amazing forum, and especially as a micro-business owner.  There is a very vibrant [and talkative] group of Norfolk Twitterers….and most chatty of all is Sarah of Brays Cottage!  Sarah makes the most divine Pork Pies in a variety of lovely flavours [including my personal favourite Onion Marmalade ..Mmmmmm].

Sarah and I met up in Norwich yesterday for lunch at The Library…….a good old natter and a chance to put the world to rights. Both running our own small food/drink businesses means that we have got lots of the same challenges [and multiple pleasures!] in our business lives.

Its magic when friendships built up over Twitter move into the ‘real world’ and my friendship with Sarah is one just like that.  We have done various events together, shared a stand [to share the fun and also the cost] and often swap snippets of information about various food events coming up.  Last year Sarah won a Bursary from BBC Good Food to have a small producer stand at their November event – manning a stand at the NEC for 4 days is no small matter in terms of organisation. I was delighted to give her a helping hand – I’ve got a philosophy of what goes around comes around and Sarah’s given me lots of help along the way.

Jaws having been given a good work out over lunch, we went our seperate ways …..her to deliver her Pork Pies, and me to deliver my Posh Pop!  Cheers me dear and thanks for a lovely lunch xx

I had a lovely time! It is brilliant to share the ups, downs and those nubby conundrums with someone working through the same things. Thank you! Sarah xxx
